PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-term dysmnesia model and a non-human animal of a congenital heart disease model in which the functions of a specific gene are reduced, and to provide a method, or the like, for efficiently screening a substance that has the effects of improving the long-term memory of a test substance and of myocardiopathy, using the animal. SOLUTION: The non-human animal has reduced functions of an ERK2 gene on the chromosome and is useful as a model animal of the long-term dysmnesia or congenital heart diseases. For example, a homozygote of a low-expression allele of the ERK2 gene, in which an expression regulatory region of the ERK2 gene on the chromosome is modified or a heterozygote, or the like, of an ERK2 gene-deficient allele, in which the functions of the ERK2 gene which are deficient in modification of the ERK2 gene on the chromosome can be cited as the non-human animal. The substance useful for therapy, or the like, of long-term dysmnesia and myocardiopathy can be evaluated and sorted, by using the non-human animal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
