The present invention relates to a method for maintaining the level of lane-deviation of an image recording apparatus for a vehicle, having a feature of sensing lane-deviation, comprising: a lane location detection step of detecting the location of a lane displayed constantly in a certain direction and within a predetermined detection area of a vehicle driving image inputted through a camera in an image recording apparatus with a lane-deviation sensing feature; a vanishing point extracting step of calculating the location of the lane detected from the lane location detection step to extract a vanishing point; a vanishing point location value comparison step of comparing the vanishing point detected from the vanishing point extraction step with a vanishing point location within a predetermined detection area; and a detection area resetting step of setting a new detection area based on the vanishing point obtained from the vanishing point extraction step when a difference of the location value obtained from the vanishing point location value comparison step exceeds a predetermined range. Thus, the method for maintaining the level of lane-deviation of an image recording apparatus for a vehicle has effects of: having no need of setting a separate lane location reference value as the vanishing point is calculated in real-time, and a detection range is determined based on the calculated vanishing point; and maintaining the level of lane-deviation at the same level with a straight lane by responding actively to various shapes of roads such as curved roads or sloping roads.
