The present invention relates to an apparatus to detect damage of a looper car wire, which detects whether a wire for towing a looper car is damaged. In order to achieve this purpose, the apparatus to detect damage of the looper car wire comprises: a wire connected to a looper car; a plurality of rollers arranged to be able to move together, wherein the wire is disposed between the rollers; and a recognizing unit which recognizes whether a gap between the rollers reaches an acceptable limit value when the rollers move in accordance with a decrease in diameter of the wire. |
