This utility model relates to a self-propelled compost turner having a mobile support frame adapted for movement over the ground. A bottom chamber formed on said frame and oriented to move windrows of compost materials rearwardly and upwardly for turning therefrom. A turning mechanism disposed underneath said frame in communication with said chamber. The mechanism consisting of a tubular driving shaft rotatively held to said frame with one end extending therefrom and being connected to a sprocket. The tubular shaft having a plurality of radial arms is securedly held to angular bracket spacedly arranged to said shaft serves as turning paddles to turn windrows of compost material rearwardly and upwardly. A drive means defining a motor engine and gears for driving said turning mechanism being connected through an endless chain to a sprocket of said drive shaft to affect rotation. An enclosed operator's cab mounted on top of said frame serves as control room to operate said turner. |
