PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an increase in range-finding accuracy regardless of whether a range-finding field is present in a shot area or out of the shot area by providing information from light metering means even to the range-finding field existing other than the shot area by means of an imaging device having a mode selecting only one area as the shot area and shooting the selected shot area.SOLUTION: When a range-finding field exists in a range to be masked in a mode selecting only one area as a shot area and shooting the selected one shot area, upon detection of light metering means, an indication of mask means is turned off, and is turned on other than upon the detection thereof, and thereby, with respect to the light metering means, the indication is recognized as a transmission state, and with respect to users, the indication is recognized as a mask state. As an indication state, the indication is in the mask state, but information in a mask area is acquired, and can be used for focus detection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
