PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound body housing box capable of exhibiting the lock function of projections, to provide a method for manufacturing the wound body housing box, and to provide a wound body containing housing box.SOLUTION: A wound body housing box 1 includes a main body part 10 and a lid part 20. Flank plates 15 included in the main body part 10 each include a projection 15p provided on a flank plate top side 17 to project outwardly from the main body part 10. Side lid pieces 25 included in the lid part 20 each include a step forming piece 22j provided inside the lid part 20 to form a gap 25d between the step forming piece and a top side 25s into which the projection 15p is inserted. A projection rear end 15pe is located on a rear plate 14 side with respect to a step piece rear end 22je, and a rear end difference Ge is configured to be 0.5 to 5 times a projection height 15pH. A method for manufacturing the wound body housing box 1 determines the above configuration, and a projection length 15pL, the projection height 15pH, and a level piece length 22jL in such a manner that the projection 15p and the step forming piece 22j are engaged with each other.
