PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic position detection device and a magnetic position detection method with which it is possible to detect the position of a magneto-sensitive device that is sensitive to a magnetic scale with high accuracy, without requiring position information that serves as a reference.SOLUTION: Intra-magnetic pole pair position arithmetic units 41a, 41b find first position information and second position information presenting the positions which divides the inside of a magnetic pole pair of magnetic scales 1a, 1b, on the basis of the detection result of a change in the magnetic fields of magneto-sensitive elements 21, 22. A position calculation unit 42a finds the position of a magneto-sensitive device 2 relative to the magnetic scale 1a and magnetic scale 1b on the basis of the first position information and second position information. A boundary zone determination unit 43 detects a boundary zone where the intra-magnetic pole position information of the magnetic scale 1a and the intra-magnetic pole position information of the magnetic scale 1b are out of phase with each other. A position correction unit 44 corrects the position of the magneto-sensitive device 2 relative to the magnetic scale 1a and magnetic scale 1b in the boundary zone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
