<p>PURPOSE:To measure the amount of moisture in a wide range without errors regardless of the type of material, by evaporating water content in a sample into a carrier gas to be introduced to an infrared absorption moisture detector, outputs of which are accumulated until the sample has dried up. CONSTITUTION:A sample container 1 has an introduction port 1a and a discharge port 1b for a carrier gas. The introduction port 1a communicates with a desiccant container 3 packed with a desiccant 2. Then, a carrier gas dried with the container 3 is blown against the sample in the sample container 1 and the moisture contained in the sample is evaporated to be introduced to a detector comprising an infrared rays source 5 and a light receiving element 6. The detector outputs a signal corresponding to the amount of moisture contained in the gas momentarily depending on the absorption of infrared rays of the carrier gas. The outputs are accumulated through a comparator 18, a V/f converter 7 and a pulse counter 8 until moisture in the carrier is gone after the start of the measurement to determine the amount of moisture contained in the sample.</p> |
