The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing a point of interest. The apparatus for managing the point of interest, which is disclosed, includes: a call history input unit to receive call history data including call information on a call; a point of interest storing unit to store data of a point of interest, which is obtained by matching the point of interest with a phone number corresponding to each other; a processing unit to determine or adjust an exposure characteristic of the point of interest for search according to the comparison result between the phone number contained in the call history data and the phone number matched to the point of interest corresponding to the point of interest; and a data update unit to update data of the point of interest corresponding to the point of interest having the exposure characteristic that is determined or adjusted. Accordingly, the accuracy of a database for the point of interest can be increased by combining the call history with the point of the interest, so that quality can be improved. |
