1,084,597. Feeding webs; delivering sheets. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. July 21, 1965 [Aug. 4, 1964], No. 30935/65. Headings B6B and B6H. A web 10 is advanced from a printing couple 11, 12, through transverse cutter 13, 14 by a pair of parallel suction belts 15 having suction apertures 16 so spaced that only the leading edge of the web is held against the belts. The belts are driven faster than the printing couple so that the web is tensioned. The belts deliver each cut sheet to a clip 22 on a drying drum 21. The speed of the drying drum 21 is less than that of the belts so that the sheets are shingled as they are transferred to the drying drum. |
