A cutting tool assembly comprises a tool 32 having a rack 38 which co-operates with an adjusting screw 40, and a clamping block 50 held against the screw by a spring-urged stud 68; screw 40 is rotatably supported on a bearing plate 16 and carries a micrometer head 59. Block 50 has a pair of lugs 52, 54, which engage a groove 42 and stem portion 58 of screw 40 respectively. Spring-urged stud 68 has an extension pin 76 screwed therein and is arranged at such an angle so that a force having three components is provided on block 50, to counteract vertical, horizontal, and transverse forces, transmitted by the tool. |
