[Also in Division B3] A machine for producing reinforcement netting having a layer of spaced parallel stiff reinforcement rods 1, 1', 1" connected together by flexible spacers 2 and held in plase by intertwined U-shaped loops 3, 4 formed in the spacers, includes a feed device having members 48, reciprocating along a base plate 10, along which the spacers 2 travel, to move the reinforcement rods 1 connected to the spacers 2 from a connecting station, at which they are connected to the spacers 2, solid members 48 cooperating with at least one movable abutment 20 on the base plate. The rods 1 are fed one at a time down an inclined plate 11 to means 24, 25, 21 which form the loops 3, 4 in the spacers 2 and twist them together as disclosed in Specification 1,094,078, to which reference is made. The members 48 are moved by cams 47, against springs 52, to push a rod 1". after connection to the spacers 2, from the connecting station and over the abutment 20, then in its night hand position. The abutment is in its left hand position during the connecting operation and is moved by a link 55. A single common element may move the abutment 20 and a jaw 18 of the loop forming means. The spacers 2 may be of wire or plastic. |
