Following imprinting of the free surface of a backing sheet by a typewriter, pencil or other implement the backing sheet is separated from an underlying backing to which it was joined by a transer layer, and the transfer layer remains bonded to the underside of the backing layer at those regions where imprinting occured, thereby defining a mirror image of the imprint. The backing layer is then laid image side down on a further backing having a transfer layer and this layer is bonded locally to the image by applied radiant heat so that the image taxes up the transfer layer. The finished form is usable in spirit duplicators as a hectographic master sheet. |
