Edible mushrooms are dried and, shortly before reaching the desired dryness level, they are smoked and milled or shredded after smoking. Also claimed are flavoured mushrooms comprising smoked mushrooms. Smoking may take place over beech wood, pine wood and/or pine cones, oak wood, fir wood and/or fir cones. The dried mushrooms are pref. champignons and fresh lovage, marjoram, thyme and/or parsley is added to the smoking fire.
