Sheets are delivered in side-by-side arrangement to form a plurality of side-by-side stacks, the stacks being separated by dividers of plastics material. Sheets are fed by conveyers 1, 2 in side-by-side arrangement and in overlapping fashion to a further conveyer 8 and adjustable roller 9, and are stacked on receiver 18 in a plurality of side-by-side stacks, S. The conveyer 8 and roller 9 are mounted on a block 11 which can be raised or lowered by cable 12, while conveyers 1, 2 can pivot on support structure 14, to keep the sheet-delivery apparatus level with the top of the pile. Dividing plates 19, 25 separate adjacent stacks S, and plates 19 may be vibrated by means of a pneumatic device 22, 23, 24; plates 25 are generally raised with plates 19 as the block 11 is raised. The plastics material from which the plates are made may be an epoxy resin/glass cloth laminate, a glass fibre/polyester laminate, an epoxy resin/glass laminate or may be homogeneous, and optionally transparent. |
