<p>Compounds of the class of 1-[2-[4-(thienol[2,3-b][1,5]benzothiazepin-4-yl]-1-piperazinyl]-alkyl] -3-alkyl-2-imidazolidinones and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts have a depressant effect on the central nervous system; pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and methods of producing a central nervous system depressant effect therewith are provided; a typical embodiment is 1-[2-[4-(thieno[2,3-b][1,5]benzothiazepin-4-yl)-1-piperazinyl]-ethyl]- 3-methyl-2-imidazolidinone.</p> |
