PURPOSE: To record a sharp image while reducing the substitution of ink by preparatory emission or suction/pressurization to the utmost by driving a first heater part when image data is recorded on a medium to be recorded to emit recording ink droplets and driving a second heater part when image data is not recorded. CONSTITUTION: When an image is recorded, a first heater part 1 is driven on the basis of the signal from a control part to emit ink to perform recording and the driving of a second heater part 2 is not performed. When recording is not performed, that is, when recording is performed after the definite standby time of a recording head is elapsed, the second heater part 2 is driven at a part other than a material to be recorded to emit the ink at the tip part of a nozzle. The driving timing of the second heater part 2 is set on the way of the closing of a power supply or the like. It is also effective to determine the substitution of ink by preparatory emission or suction/pressurization based on whether a definite time is elapsed after a timer is incorporated. |
