<p>The casting table is used in casting relatively thin plaster slabs for suspended ceilings. It has panel sides (9-12), and pivots to facilitate striking without arris damage. The table pivots about an axis (14, 15) parallel to one of its sides, which may be offset from the table centroid (x-x), being normal to the long sides (10, 12). The long side forms are demountable. The short side forms have a tapered connection, this facilitating striking. The longest (11) of the long sides is also the greatest distance from the axis (14, 15). The table is of glass or resin, mounted on supple padding on a pivotable frame. The side forms inc. grooves locating a reinforcement which may be further supported from overhead angle irons (18).</p> |
