PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out comfortable cooling in accordance with the number of passengers, by intermittently controlling the operation of a compressor within a predetermined temperature range in response to signals from an element for detecting load due to the passengers in the vehicle compartment and from an element for detecting the outlet temperature of an evaporator. CONSTITUTION:One terminal of a cooling switch 2 which is connected at the other terminal to a power source 1, is connected to a normally open contact 5 which is adapted to be closed by a temperature control part 3 and the magnetic attraction force of an magnetically energizing coil 4, and an electromagnetic clutch 6 for the coupling of a compressor, in series. The inpt of an amplifier 15 is estabilished by connecting a resistor 10, an evaporator temperature detecting element 11 and resistors 12, 13 between the above-mentioned switch 2 and the ground 7. Further, a resistor 22, an element 23 for detecting a load due to passengers, an exgernally controlable volume 24 and a resistor 25 are connected in series between the switch 2 and the ground 7 for forming the circuit connected to the output of the amplifier 15. With this arrangement, the compressor is operated under its maximum power by the detecting element 11 when the load due to the passengers is large, but is intermittently operated by multiple signals from the detecting elements 11, 23 when the load due to the passengers is decreased. |
