<p>A tensile tester especially useful for colored specimens comprising pairs of projector-optics arrangements for bench marks (2, 3) on a specimen (1). Each includes a projector (6,10) having an ultraviolet lamp and an optics assembly (7, 11) incorporating a detector for receiving luminescent rays emitted by the bench marks (2,3) on the specimen upon irradiation by the associated projector (6, 10) and for detecting the incident light. Tracking mechanism cause the arrangements to track automatically the bench marks (2,3) in accordance with the outputs of the detectors, movement sensors (4, 8) for transmit respective displacementsignals to an artihmetic unit (12) for computing specimen elongation.</p> |
