PURPOSE:A composition for oral purpose that contains a synthetic amorphous Zr-binding silicate of a certain Zr content and a fluorine compound, thus showing high storage stability such as good form retention and resistance to liquid-solid phase separation, even when stored at high temperature for a long period of time and being suitable for use in tooth decay prevention. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains a synthetic amorphous Zr-binding silicate whose Zr content is 0.1-10wt%, preferably 0.2-2wt%, calculated as ZrO2 based on SiO2, and a fluorine compound such as alkali metal fluorides, alkali metal monofluorophosphate salts, stannouscontaining fluorides. The synthetic amorphous Zr-binding silicate has following properties: more than 85% of SiO2 in its anhydrous form; 1.40-1.47 reflactive index; less than 800m2/g specific surface area; 1.9-2.3 specific gravity; 0.4-2.0ml/g liquid absorption and the content is 1-50wt% in the final composition. When myoinositol phosphate is added to the composition in addition, the fluorine intake into dentinal enamel is increased to result in markedly increased tooth decay prevention.
