PURPOSE:To provide a small wire dot head generating noise during operation by making a holder structurally integrated in sections through a vibration damping material and preventing the resonance of the holder in a wire dot head for printing through the projection of wire by a drive contained in a holder. CONSTITUTION:A back holder 21 of high heat radiation material such as aluminium is composed of two split sections such as the first back holder 21'a and the second back holder 21'b, with a vibration-resistant rubber 80 sandwiched in between. This rubber is fixed with an adhesive to make a back holder unit. The back holder unit does not resonate, and the rate of sound generation is low, even if a vibration is transmitted from a heat radiation plate because of varying intrinsic vibration frequency of the back holder. If the number of sections of the back holder unit is changed, the intrinsic vibration frequency varies, accordingly the resonance is prevented by changing the number of sections according to the kind of vibration to be transmitted. The intrinsic vibration frequency can be changed by properly selecting other materials to be inserted between the sections instead of vibration-resistant rubber 80 if the number of sections is the same. |
