The invention relates to a device preventing the introduction of any foreign body, such as an animal, plants, gravel, decoys, or debris into the jet engine of an aircraft, land, marine, or submarine vehicle, being accidentally sucked in with the surrounding fluid. It consists of a shield 1 in the form of a lattice which is permeable to the fluid and arranged in front of a jet engine 2 slightly overhanging the fluid intake. The method of fixing, acccording to a preferred claim, consists of a spindle about which the shield is driven by a rotational movement, guides possibly also holding the shield 1 at a constant distance with respect to the jet engine during operation. The device is particularly intended to protect jet-propelled aircraft, land, marine and submarine vehicles. <IMAGE>
