PURPOSE:To contrive smoother alternate protruding and retracting operations of refills, by a construction wherein cam surfaces provided on sliders connected integrally to rear ends of first and second refills are selectively pressed against a cam-engaging protrusion provided on the inner periphery of a rear outer tube restricted by a detent means in being rotated. CONSTITUTION:A rear outer tube of a composite writing means is connected to a rear end part of a front outer tube through a sheath so that it can be rotated forward and reversely, be inserted and detached, and be slidden axially for a knocking operation. A fixed-side detent protrusion for restricting the rotating range of the rear outer tube is provided integrally on the outer peripheral surface of the sheath, and is contained in a large diameter stepped hole part provided at a tip-side inner peripheral surface of the rear outer tube. A pair of axial slide grooves for permitting a knocking operation of the rear outer tube is provided at the rear end of the hole part, and a tip part of a partition wall between the grooves is formed as a movable-side detent protrusion. When the rear outer tube is rotated in one direction, the movable-side detent protrusion comes into contact with one side surface of the detent protrusion on the sheath to restrict the rotation, and when the rear outer tube is rotated in the other direction, the movable-side detent protrusion comes into contact with the other side surface of the detent protrusion on the sheath to restrict the rotation. |
