A cleaning robot for cleaning air ducts, which cleaning robot incorporates a transport trolley 1, which is arranged to transport the robot unit in the air duct in a friction-drawn manner supported upon the inner walls of the air duct; a brush trolley 2, which is provided with movable brushes for cleaning the inner walls of the air duct; an articulated guide device 3, which is disposed between the transport trolley and the brush trolley to join these one to the other in a resilient and articulated pivotable manner and which articulated guide device is arranged to act as a manoeuvrable frame guide member between the transport trolley and the brush trolley, the transport trolley and the brush trolley being pivotable relative to each other in the bends and branches of the air duct by means of the articulated guide device; and coupling members 4 by which the brush trolley is detachably fastened to the articulated guide device such that the brush device can be freed to advance in a second duct branching off from a first duct, whilst the transport trolley remains in the first duct. <IMAGE>
