Conventional clamping pieces for mounting and positioning electric probes on baseplates of measuring machines are mostly specially designed for a specific type of probe and are large, because in their case probes, prods and setting and resetting members are arranged offset. In the event of rough operation, when the test object brings with it dirt, water, lubricating oils and cutting oils (fluids) and the like, they do not guarantee reliable measurement operation. In order to prevent these disadvantages, the invention proposes a standardisable clamping piece (10) for probes (18), which consists of a basic body (12) having a central through bore (16) for accepting a probe (18) and an auxiliary piston (20). A web (34), which in conjunction with a clamping bolt (38) serves to clamp the probe (18), is cut free in the basic body (12) by three slotted grooves. The central through bore (16) in the basic body (12) is sealed towards the test object, for example by an elastic diaphragm (48) which is mounted in the basic body (12) and on the auxiliary piston (20).
