PURPOSE: To improve sealing performance in a seal ring provided with a step cut by providing a wedge-like projection on the opposite face of a projecting part of an other cut end part opposite to an inner wall of a recessed part of one cut end part, and providing a groove into which the projection is inserted on the inner wall of the recessed part of the one cut end part. CONSTITUTION: A seal ring 1 formed into a ring-like shape as a whole and having a rectangular section is cut off at one position on the circumference, and a step cut 3 is provided on a cut-off part 2. In this step cut 3, recessed parts 6, 7 and projecting parts 8, 9 of almost rectangular section are placed in order in the axial direction on the outer circumferential side of respective cut end parts 4, 5, and the recessed part 6 and the projecting part 8 of the one cut end part 4 are respectively engaged with the projecting part 9 and the recessed part 7 of the other cut end part 5. In this case, wedge-like projections 14, 13 are integratedly formed on the opposite faces of the projecting parts 9, 8 opposite to inner walls of the respective recessed parts 6, 7, and grooves 15,16 into which the wedge-like projections 14, 13 formed on the projecting parts 9, 8 of the other cut end parts 9, 8 are inserted are formed on the inner walls of the respective recessed parts 6, 7. |
