Scissors or the like, which have blades 2,3 which can be pivoted on a pivot pin 1 and make tangential contact with each other through the action of the grip 9 and which, during cutting, release the material fed between them, and a scraper 5, which is fastened 4 to the tip part of each blade and sweeps the surface 11 of the blade in the direction of the cutting plane and which, close 10 to its other end, is joined to the other blade by a spring 6, the points of attachment 7, 10 lying at approximately equal distance from the pivot pin 1, whilst the scraper 5, during cutting, pivots against the force of the spring 6, yet which scraper, when the cut material becomes detached, returns close to the cutting edge of its attachment blade 2 or 3 and at the same time brushes off the detached piece. <IMAGE>
