Loader arm has a contoured load-acceptance surface for the force transmission surface of the coil ect load. The load acceptance surface (6) is fitted to a support (10) which swivels both ways round axis (8) through a limited angle and is pre-tensioned into centre setting by springs (9). When the load acceptance surface (6) contacts the force transmission surface (3) of the coil at any one point, the arm (5) automatically moves towards the centre of the coil entry hole relaive the transmission surface without friction. USE/ADVANTAGE - mechanical handling, e.g. steel coils. Load acceptance surface lines up with coil force transmission surface automatically on contact thus shielding core surface from scoring etc.
