摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain good scannability and thermal durability even with a smooth surface by forming a magnetic layer essentially consisting of ferromagnetic powder and a binder having >=60 deg.C glass transition point and contg. an aliphat. polyisocyanate compd. as a hardener on a nonmagnetic base body and incorporating a compd. having plural carboxyl groups in the molecule into the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer essentially consisting of the ferromagnetic powder and the binder having >=60 deg.C glass transition point and contg. the aliphat. polyisocyanate compd. as the hardener is formed on the nonmagnetic base body of the magnetic recording medium. The magnetic layer contains the compd. having the plural carboxyl groups in the molecule. The compd. having the plural carboxyl groups is separated by the number of the carboxyl groups to allow the use of dicarboxylic acid having the two carboxyl groups in the molecule, tricarboxylic acid having the three carboxyl groups and tetracarboxylic acid having the four carboxyl groups, etc. The good scannability and thermal durability with the smooth surface are thus obtd.
