The torsion damper includes a hub (11), a disc (5), a predamper (12) provided with a housing (26), the said housing (26) housing a secondary disc (25), as well as two guide washers (28, 29), in which damper friction means (38, 37...) including elastic means with axial action (38) are associated with the predamper (12), the said guide washers being retained axially between a first (73) and a second (31) shoulder of the housing. The elastic means (38, 138) bear on one of the guide washers (28, 29-128, 129) and on an annular spacer (37, 132) fitted axially onto one of the said shoulders (31, 73-131, 173) of the housing (26, 126), in order to separate the said guide washer from the secondary disc (25, 125). The said spacer extends at least partly above the secondary disc (25, 125). One of the said guide washers constitutes a pressure plate for a friction washer (40, 140) meshing with clearance with one of the elements which are the secondary disc (25) and the hub (111).
