The invention relates to a direct-current electromagnet, especially for a current switching apparatus, comprising a coil (1) consisting of a winding (2) wound on a former (3), a fixed armature (4) and a movable armature (5) given a translational movement parallel to the axis of the coil, characterised in that the former (3) consists of two half-formers (31, 32) joined to each other by clipping means.
