PURPOSE: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image formation time computing method by which precise image forming time (copying time) is made known. CONSTITUTION: The data necessary for computation of copying time are stored (ST10), copying conditions are set (ST12), the number of sheets of original paper is counted (ST24, Yes), the feed time for respective sheets of original paper to be counted is computed (ST26), the size of respective sheets of original paper to be counted is detected (ST26), excess time is stored as paper feed loss time in the case where the feed time for the original sheets whose size is detected exceeds a prescribed feed time, the copying time is computed (ST27) based on at least one result of the stored data, the paper feed loss time, the set copying conditions, the counted number of original sheets, the measured paper feed time, and the detected size of the original sheets, and the computed copying time is made known (ST32). |
