PURPOSE:To surely perform KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese charac ter) conversion even when a clause is segmented while including plural words. CONSTITUTION:When a character string is inputted from an input part 11 and KANA/KANJI conversion is instructed, a KANA/KANJI conversion control part 13 performs KANA/KANJI conversion processing to the inputted character string, stores clause candidates in a candidate memory 17 and displays the most preferential candidate at a display part 23. When the segmentation of the clause is instructed at such a time, the KANA/KANJI conversion control part 13 refers to clause segmenting position information and a KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary 16 and performs KANA/KANJI conversion processing even when the segmented front side character string is reading including composite words, and the result is stored in the candidate memory 17. While referring to a clause learning dictionary 19, a clause learning control part 18 judges the clause to be preferentially outputted among the clause candidates stored in the candidate memory 17 and displays the most preferential clause at the display part 23 as the converted result. |
