PURPOSE:To register a new word while excluding a subsidiary word from a prepared composite word by performing single KANJI (Chinese character) conversion for single KANJI or the composite word of KANA (Japanese syllabary) (such as an idiom, synthetic word or composite word). CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a single KANJI conversion control part 3 for executing the single KANJI conversion while excluding a non- conversion designated part by dividing reading into several parts enabling the single KANJI conversion when there is no single KANJI candidate completely coincident with the reading in the case of performing conversion processing for the single KANJI conversion instructed reading while referring to a single KANJI dictionary 4. Further, this device is provided with a single KANJI display control part 5 for waiting an instruction and displaying the composite word, which is provided by this single KANJI conversion, so as to register it on a new word registration dictionary 9, new word registered word inspection part 7 and new word registration part 8 for registering the composite word on the new word registration dictionary 9 while excluding the inflected end of the word and the attached word from an index and reading to register the new word. |
