PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate measurement of the condition of bubbles contained in an opaque liquid sodium optically. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic transducer 12 is mounted on the internal surface of a container 1 and is connected to an amplifier 13, which is connected to a signal processor 11. A liquid sodium 2 flows into the container 1 from an inlet piping 3 to be stored and flows out of an outlet piping 4. Bubbles exist in the liquid sodium 2 within the container 1. An ultrasonic wave transmitted from the ultrasonic transducer 12 is reflected from the individual bubbles 6 in the liquid sodium 2 to identify the positions and the diameter thereof and the density of the bubbles is identified by the ultrasonic wave returned to the ultrasonic transducer 12. |
