PURPOSE:To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery having the excellent shelf life characteristic and to be used as a built-in type power source for a measuring instrument or the like, which needs the durability for a long time. CONSTITUTION:This non-aqueous electrolyte battery is provided with a positive electrode, in which the mixture of manganese dioxide and graphite fluoride is used as the active material, a negative electrode made of metallic lithium or the material, which can store and discharge lithium ions, and the non-aqueous electrolyte. The graphite fluoride expressed by a formula (CFx)n (wherein 1.2<=x<=1.4) is used and this graphite fluoride at 0.1-4% of weight ratio is included in the described mixture. The generation of self-discharge due to the reaction of the reaction product, which is generated by the reaction of manganese dioxide and the nonaqueous electrolyte, with lithium of the negative electrode is restricted. |
