Motorized overhead garage door having a variable force compensator

The garage door has an opening panel (2) connected to its frame by rollers (4) or guides moving in vertical slideways of the door frame and by at least one pivoted arm (5) between the frame and door. The door is opened and closed by a motor (6) which is mounted on the door and has its output shaft (7) fixed to one end of the pivoted arm (5). The motor has a regulator (10) to control its output effort from a constant nominal effort which is increased or decreased during the different phases of the door's opening or closure. The regulator is mechanical and comprises a compensating spring with one end fixed and the other connected by a link to the drive motor's output shaft (7).
