PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit a cartridge in and remove it from a holder by a tone-touch single operation by a construction wherein a pawl and a drive pawl which can be engaged with and disengaged from a ratchet cam alternately are provided in juxtaposition for the holder wherein the cartridge can be fitted, and a cartridge frame is pushed up by the restoring force of a holding form. SOLUTION: On the occasion when a cartridge 10 is fitted in a holder 20, a cartridge frame 13 is inserted, with a porous body 12 disposed on the lower side, into a receiving chamber 21 of the holder 20 and pushed into it with a pressure. Thereby the top part of the porous body 12 pushes up an ink holding form 11 partly into an area X and compresses it. The pore part of the ink holding form 11 is brought to a state wherein it is made smaller than that in other areas, and the cartridge 10 is fitted in the holder 20, while an extraction needle made to pierce the porous body 12 through a sealing body 14. Then the ink held in the ink holding form 11 is made to move by a capillary action toward the area X wherein the pore part is reduced and it is supplied to a recording head 30 from the inside of the cartridge 10. |
