A method for sealing a container with a lid by crimping the edge of the lid onto the flange of the container, wherein (a) a container and a gasket-free lid are supplied that each have a lining selected to be heat-sealable to the lining of the other, (b) said lid and said container are crimped, and (c) the lining of the container is heat sealed to the lining of the lid. |
