A busbar for a SF6-insulated switchgear unit has an insulating layer (2) around the main conductor (3) and with conducting layers (4) on each side. At the two ends, the inner conducting layer is joined electrically with the conductor through contacts(5). These are metal rings or rings of conducting plastic. The ends of the outer conducting layer has field control elements.
