The front bulkhead panel has contoured areas to allow movement of components in the engine bay, relative to the panel. The front bulkhead wall, in the area of both longitudinal support extensions has steps and non-flexible side parts (2,3) and a middle area with a deformable insert (9). The side parts are held together through a stepped connecting support surface (8) and, with this, define a U-shaped frame for the deformable insert. The deformable insert overlaps the transmission tunnel area.
