Free wheel clutch mechanism uses belt drive arrangement between two axles

A freewheel clutch has a flat belt pulley (1) with a circular drive surface (1a) which extends around its outer circumference. A V-belt pulley (2) operates alongside the flat belt pulley and rotates about the centreline of the drive surface. It has a bow-shaped drive surface (2a), which is located outside the drive surface on the outer circumference of the V-belt pulley, and stretches along the outer circumference. An endless belt (3) runs around the flat belt pulley drive surfaces (1a,2a) and the V-belt pulley. A leaf spring (4) pre-tensions a flat belt zone (3a) between the belt pulleys (1,2).
