PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove NOx by coating a catalyst obtd. by carrying silver and/or one or more silver compds. on a porous inorg. oxide with a high durability inorg. oxide having high heat and sulfur resistances. SOLUTION: The top of a silver catalyst obtd. by carrying silver and/ or one or more silver compds. on a porous inorg. oxide is coated with a high durability inorg. oxide to obtain the objective waste gas purification material for effectively reducing and removing NOx from waste combustion gas contg. NOx and excess oxygen over a long period of time. Sulfur and ash in waste gas are blocked by the high durability inorg. oxide while maintaining the activity of the silver catalyst and the durability of the waste gas purification material is improved. The high durability inorg. oxide is, e.g., α-alumina, δ-alumina, aluminum phosphate or zirconia. |
