PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the display device which is reliable by manufacturing the display device by easily covering part of a projection area of a substrate constituting the display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 10 is equipped with two substrates 14 and 18 which are stuck together. One substrate 14 has an area 22 for display, the projection area 26, and a terminal part 30 formed in the projection area 26 and in the projection area 26, an IC chip is mounted. The projection area 26 is covered with a mold material 40 of 0.5 to 9.0 in viscosity before solidification on the side of the display area 22 on one surface of a wiring layer side. The mold material 40 decreases in thickness in a tapered shape with the distance from the side of the display area 22.
