摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor with little unevenness in potential in its image forming region and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor is a laminate type one with an electric charge generating layer disposed by coating on the electrically conductive substrate and an electric charge transfer layer formed on the electric charge generating layer. The thickness of the electric charge generating layer in its latent image forming region is made gradually smaller from the coating start end toward the coating finish end. When the electric charge generating layer is formed by dip coating, the relation between a coating rate and the thickness of the electric charge generating layer is obtained previously from two or more coating rates, so that the actual coating rate of a coating fluid for forming the electric charge generating layer is made interpolated value. Coating rate at each position from the coating start end of the latent image forming region to the coating finish end is set as a mathematical function by utilizing the relation, so that the thickness at the coating start end is made smaller than that at the coating finish end. Coating is carried out at a coating rate controlled in accordance with the function.
