PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generation system and a starting method thereof not presenting voltage drop on start, and increasing durabilty of a fuel cell body. SOLUTION: A fuel cell power generation system is provided with a fuel cell body 3 generating electric power by reacting fuel with oxygen in the air, and an electric power supply mean 45 supplying electric power generated in the fuel cell body 3 to an external load 47. A control mean 51 provided with a test load 49 connected to the power supply mean 45, supplying temporarily electric power generated in the fuel cell main body to the test load 49 on a start of the fuel cell power generation system, and turning off the power supply to the test load 49 and enabling power supply to the external load 47 through the electric power supplying mean 45 when the voltage of the fuel cell body does not decrease down to a prescribed voltage or less is provided. |
