PURPOSE: An electrode of a touch panel and a flat panel display with the touch panel are provided to compensate for potential distortion, be applicable to a narrow area without the potential distortion, and maintain linearity of a potential compensation electrode of a touch panel. CONSTITUTION: An active area is formed through an interface(105) on a transparent electrode(102). Potential compensation electrodes(101a,101b) are arranged on the transparent electrode(102). A signal applying part(103) is contacted with the potential compensation electrodes(101a,101b) to apply an electrical signal to the potential compensation electrodes(101a,101b). The potential compensation electrodes(101a,101b) may be symmetrically formed based on the signal applying part(103). A width of the potential compensation electrodes which is nearer to the signal applying part(103) is W1 which is narrow based on the interface(105) of the potential compensation electrodes(101a,101b). The other width of the potential compensation electrodes is W2 which becomes wider as becoming farther from the signal applying part(103). Therefore, W1<W2 is satisfied. |
