IMAGE ENCODING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the image decoded data Rg of each frame at a correct display timing irrespectively whether or not a frame display period is fixed. SOLUTION: An image decoding device 2000 is provided with a data separator 2110 to separate a display period identifier Df, display period data Dp, frame number data Bn, the display time data Dtn of each frame and image coded data Cgn included in a multiplex bit stream M1 from a transmitting side, and a decoder 2120 to decode the image coded data Cgn to output the image decoded data Rg. The image decoded data Rg in which the display period is fixed are displayed at a display timing based on the display period data Dp and the frame number data Bn, and the image decoded data Rg whose display period is changeable are displayed at a display timing based on the display time data Dtn.
