PURPOSE: Provided is Pb-free resin solution for automotive fuel tank, which has drastically improved solution stability and weldability by controlling particle sizes of phenoxy resin and metal powder. CONSTITUTION: In a manufacture method of a resin coated steel sheet for automotive fuel tank where after chromate treatment on Zn or Zn-based alloy plated strips, a resin solution is applied thereon followed by baking the strips at temperature ranges of 160 and 250°C, the resin solution comprises 100 parts by weight of soluble phenoxy resin with a number average molecular weight of 25000 to 50000, 2 to 15 parts by weight of melamine resin, 10 to 20 parts by weight of colloidal silica, and one or more powdery metals selected from the group consisting of Ni, Al, Co, Cu, Zn, Fe, Sn, and Mn. The thickness of dried resin coating after baking process is 1 to 10μm. The particle size of phenoxy resin 0.1 to 4.0μm, and the planar metal powder has a rectangular shape of 0.1 to 3.0μm in lengthwise.
